
Recognized as “superb” by SF Classical Voice, Alicia Yang leads a dual career as modern violinist and historically-informed specialist. Her versatility allows her to appear with such varied ensembles as the San Francisco Symphony, SF Ballet, SF Opera, and Phiharmonia Baroque. She is a member of the Sun Valley Music Festival Orchestra, and a former member of the Oregon Symphony under James DePriest. US and international appearances include Seattle Symphony, Smithsonian Chamber Players, Carmel Bach Festival, Boston Early Music Festival, Kennedy Center Opera, and Orquesta Sinfonica de Castilla y Leon. She has appeared as soloist with the Baltimore Chamber Orchestra and the Ottumwa Symphony. A graduate of Oberlin Conservatory, Ms Yang studied violin under Marilyn McDonald. She received her Masters degree from the New England Conservatory, studying under James Buswell and Louis Krasner. She enjoys performing chamber music, traveling with her children, and hanging out with her rescue dog Kayla.
