
JungHae Kim’s playing has been described as “gallant and regal” (La Folia), “supple…impressive” (New York Arts), emotionally exquisite, warm, and inviting. Professor Kim holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Harpsichord Performance from Peabody Conservatory, and a Master’s Degree in Historical Performance (Harpsichord) from Oberlin Conservatory. She completed her studies with Gustav Leonhardt in Amsterdam on a Haskell Scholarship, and holds an Advanced Performer’s Certificate in Harpsichord Performance from Amsterdam’s Sweelinck Conservatorium. She has performed in concerts throughout the United States, Europe and in Asia as a soloist and with numerous fine historical instrument ensembles including American Baroque, Brandywine Baroque, Musica Glorifica, and Ensemble Mirable. She has also soloed and performed continuo with some of the finest modern groups, including the New Century Chamber Orchestra, the Zurich Chamber Orchestra, and the San Francisco Symphony. Ms. Kim is a Professor of Music Theory and Musicianship at San Francisco Conservatory, is a Lecturer in Harpsichord at Stanford University, is the Director of MusicSources Center for Historically Informed Performance, and maintains a full private studio of keyboard students. She has also co-edited a critical edition of Wagenseil’s Concerto for Four Harpsichords, published by A&R Editions.
