Jerry Fuller’s career began at 18 with a performance in Carnegie Hall. He then joined the Chicago Lyric Opera Orchestra, later performing with Santa Fe Opera, Orchester Musikkollegium Winterthur, and many other internationally acclaimed ensembles. This coming summer, he makes his Preservation Hall debut in New Orleans playing early jazz. Performing throughout Europe as a Chicago Artists Abroad grantee, he became interested in historically-informed performance and has earned international recognition for work with period instruments, including awards from Early Music America and International Society of Bassists. In addition to performing, he writes about period instruments and performance for The Strad, Double Bassist, and Bass World, and curates the Digital Dragonetti Archive at Northwestern University. He served on the editorial board of the Online Journal of Bass Research.
