Dr. Luke Conklin has performed with groups throughout North America including Cirque Du Soleil’s Drawn to Life, American Bach Soloists, Portland Baroque Orchestra, New York Baroque Incorporated, and the Trinity Wall Street Baroque Orchestra and Choir. A frequent collaborator with Cleveland-based Apollo’s Fire Baroque Orchestra, he appears on their recent albums O, Jerusalem! and Christmas from Sugarloaf Mountain, playing oboe, recorder, Celtic and Medieval harps, Irish flute, and shawm. He has recently taken over as Artistic Director of Kalamazoo-based Early Music Michigan. In addition to his work as a performer, he is an active music educator teaching private lessons on modern and historical woodwinds at Kalamazoo College and Marshall Music, and he was formerly the co-director of the Kalamazoo Junior Symphony Preparatory Winds. Luke holds degrees from Case Western Reserve University, The Juilliard School, The Irish World Academy of Music and Dance, and Ithaca College.
